Leather Work
I have recently begun an interest in leather work and learning how to design with leather in mind. Here you see a collection of work that I have put together from my Intro to Leather working class I took this semester. I look forward to diving deeper into what I can make with this lovely material.
Clock Choker
This was my very first project I ever made with leather. I had thrifted the hardware from a local antique shop. The clock face didn’t work so I figured it would be perfect to be a part of this idea that I had after I saw my roommate turn one of her watches into a necklace. The leather is a true 1oz pig skin lining. I laminated two sides together and fished it through my hardware. The final design is a dainty and subtle piece of jewelry and can be worn up or down depending on the situation.
Personal Wallet
For this project we had to create a wallet that served our own specific needs. I didn’t have anything against my old wallet except for the fact that it was cheaply made and got dirty easily. I made the long type of wallet because I hate when my money folds. I only have six card slots because I really don’t carry that much cash around. The leopard print lining just adds a fun design element that I truly love a lot.
I was really excited for this project because making a purse is just what I really wanted to do.
